WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION? An Effective, Non-Surgical Solution for Hair Loss Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is rapidly gaining popularity as a leading treatment in the hair loss sector. SMP involves a specialized form of tattooing where thousands of tiny dots are carefully placed into the skin's dermal layer to mimic the look of hair follicles using precision needles. SMP is a multi-stage process usually carried out over three to four sessions taking approximately six to eight weeks.
SMP is a form of permanent tattoo however it will lighten over time and will require a colour boost usually around three to five years after completion of the treatment depending on the individual, the individual’s lifestyle, exposure to sunlight, medication and other factors. This colour boost will normally require just one session.
